Reasons to Avoid Anxious Care

7 reasons to avoid anxious care

Are you anxious?  Do you wonder if anyone cares?  Sometimes I think God is so silent.  He doesn’t seem to care what is going on.  But that is just another lie of the devil.  God is working in ways that we may never know until we get to our eternal home.  I am reminded that I must trust when I cannot see.  I love the words to that song:

The main reason we should avoid anxious care:

Because GOD SAYS SO!  Don’t be anxious about anything, but instead pray about everything and do so with thanksgiving

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Here are 7 more reasons:

1. It’s senseless and ungrateful

Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

2. It’s useless

Being anxious is useless, ineffective, counter productive – we cannot change what God has already in His sovereignty planned.

Matthew 6:27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

3. It’s heathen – not Christian

Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

4. It’s Unnecessary

Seek God first for He knows your need

Matthew 6:32-34 … for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

5.  It’s presumptuous

Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

6. It saps our strength

Proverbs 24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

7. It’s sin

Romans 14:23 . . . for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
