A Strong Reprimand About Pride – Psalm 119:21

God’s Word tells us that everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord:  He will not go unpunished.   The Proud are rebuked and those who wander away from God’s commands are  cursed.

Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments. Psalm 119:21

A Daily Prayer

Lord, let me  not wander from your commandments for that is when I become proud.  Help me to remember that “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. (Pr. 16:18)  Draw me to your Word continually so that I am always trusting You and no my own heart.

Some Good Examples

Pharoah, in his pride, refused to listen to God’s command.  He was totally destroyed.  Nebuchadnezzar, was driven by God to the fields to eat grass like an Ox because his heart was lifted up in pride.

Is. 2:12 All that are lifted up will be brought low

James 4:6 God resists the proud, but give grace to the humble
