Being a Christian in a World that is Largely Uninterested in Christ
The world is largely uninterested in Christ. Don’t you agree that this is a true statement? Yet, that should not surprise us for God’s Word says that as the world hated Jesus so it will hate those who are truly His.
John 15:18-19 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

This is a book review on today’s culture and what it is like to live as a Christian, a citizen of heaven on earth. The book, Culture, written by A. W. Tozer is full of Tozer’s insights. Tozer is truly a man of God who desired to know God and serve Him wholeheartedly. He has much to say on how we as Christians should live in this world, on the true nature of the church, and on the cost of a true follower of Jesus. As I read many of his thoughts and the Scriptures that he shares, I am convicted of things that need to change in my life in order to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
Tozer states that Jesus would not be integrated into society. He stood above it and condemned it by withdrawing from it even while dying for it. Die for it He would, but surrender to it He would not.
I love the fact that Tozer speaks the truth unashamedly and gives Scripture to back up what he says. This book has truly been convicting in my own life as I read insights on where the church stands today. This book has helped me consider the cost of following Jesus and the importance of being sober, determined, and bold in today’s world.
I received this book from MOODY PUBLISHERS in exchange for my review. You can also get a copy here.
