But God Led The People – Exodus 13:17-14:14
It was God who led Moses and the children of Israel out of Egypt. If we would just let God lead us all the time, we would be much better off.
It was God who led the people through the wilderness and to the Red Sea.
In verse 17 it says that God could have led them through the land of the Philistines, but He knew when they saw war, they would return to Egypt.
Now they are trapped in the wilderness and it seems there is no way across the sea.
How often do we feel “trapped in the wilderness!” There’s no way out. I’m gonna die in this place. The enemy is behind me and there’s a sea in front of me. But GOD knows the way through the wilderness and He knows how I’m going to get across that sea. He leads us in certain ways for His honor and glory.
Every action should be undertaken solely for the glory of God.
No one was going to take credit for getting them out of this mess. Only God! God knows how to keep our pride in check.
This was also to show the Egyptians that He alone was The Lord.
God is bigger than the biggest army.
When it seems the enemy will overtake us there is nothing to do but look to the Lord. We should always look to the Lord beause the enemy is always after us! When we are full of fear, we will cry out to God.
Often, though, in our fear, we start complaining and say why did you do this God? Or we blame the one who has been put in charge (in this case, the people were always blaming Moses)
There is only one thing to do and that is to trust and obey. Fear Not – Stand Still – See the Salvation of the Lord!
Which He will show today.
God shows us mercy and grace every day. He delivers us continually. We may not see it or feel it, but by faith we can believe it.
We can hold our peace for The Lord will fight for us.
And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the Lord, and believed the Lord, and his servant Moses. (Ex. 14:31) When we see the great work which God does on our behalf and our faith is turned to sight, it causes our faith to increase, and to know that The Lord God, only is to be given the glory.
He is our victory.
One day our faith will be turned to eternal sight when we meet Him face to face. There will be no more struggles with the enemy!
