Do it With Your Might and Lord Change Me

God gave me two reminders recently:
1.  I was discouraged and told my husband that it did not really matter how much effort I put into regular routine tasks or other tasks such as home improvements or even hobbies.  After all I am getting older and who will even care when I am gone.  He reminded me that in Ecclesiastes 9:10 it says:

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work,
nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Yes, it is important that whatever I do I need to do it with all my might and heartily as unto the Lord.  He knows, He sees, and He cares.  I will have to answer to Him some day for my attitude and my effort.

2.  I was irritated with my husband for not straightening up after himself after I spend a lot of time “fixing” things to be just right.  I thought he was being inconsiderate.  The Lord reprimanded me and reminded me that I need to focus on myself and what changes I need to make.  How many time have I irritated him in some way?  What is it that I need to change in order to be a better wife, mother, grandmother?  May my prayer be each day – Lord change me!

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory
of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
