Do You Know God?
I don’t do this often, but today I’m joining today with the Five Minute Friday community of writers who write for 5 minutes about a one-word prompt. The Word for this week is KNOW.
The past few weeks, I’ve been engaged in a Bible study on beholding God. Who really is the God of the Bible. The word know worked well with my study this week as the verses I’ve been meditating on are verses regarding God and who He is and why I can trust Him.
KNOW
Do you know God? If so, who is He? Who is the God that you know?
The Bible says that to fear God is the beginning of knowledge. (Proverbs 1:7) So, if you really know God, then you fear Him. And as you fear Him, you will definitely want to know Him more and more through His Word.
The God I know is The Only God that can be trusted:
- He does not change – Mal 3:6
- He brings the counsel of nations to nothing- Psalm 33:10-11 He makes our own plans of no effect
- He does many wonderful works-Psalm 50:5
- His thought toward us cannot be numbered (Psalm 139)
- He is the Creator and made all by all by His great power and outstretched arm. – Jeremiah 32:17
- THERE IS NOTHING TOO HARD FOR HIM!
- His Kingdom rules over all – Psalm 93:1-2
- He is from everlasting-Psalm 93
- He does whatever He pleases in heaven, in earth, in the seas and in the deep places – Psalm 135:6
- He is at the right hand of God and angels, authorities, and powers are made subject to Him – 1 Peter 3:22
- There is none like Him for He is glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders – Exodus 15:11
- He alone is holy – Revelation 15:4
