Instilling Biblical Truths Into My Grandchildren – God Always Makes A Way To Escape Temptation
Instill this truth into the lives of your grandchildren. God ALWAYS makes a way of escape when it comes to temptation.
Sometimes that way of escape is just saying NO!
When something is dangled in front of you that just looks too good to resist, remember that God will give the strength to say no and take you away from the temptations of sinners. Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. The Bible tells us to flee from sin – so just turn around and RUN!
Here are some important things to remember:
- God was tempted in all points like us yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.) He understands and knows what it is like.
- There is nothing too hard for the Lord. It may seem impossible to us to resist the temptation before us, but God says that nothing is impossible or too hard for Him. It is a matter of trusting what He says and then obeying. Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. We have not reason to offer an excuse for giving in for there is no excuse.
- The devil is seeking someone to devour and that someone may be you or your grandchild. Hide God’s Word in your heart so that when temptations do come you are able to resist the devil and flee temptation. What if your grandchild comes to you for help? Would you be ready with Scripture verses to teach him/her what God says? By knowing God’s Word you and your grandchildren will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked; you will be able to resit the temptation set before you. Remember God’s Word says, Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
- Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Always be watching and always be praying.
Reinforce this in the lives of your grandchildren that
GOD IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL. He won’t allow anyone to face a temptation that he can’t escape.
He is the great deliverer.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
