Instilling Biblical Truths Into My Grandchildren – You Cannot Out Give God!

Can  you out give God?  Do you know anyone that has?  I doubt it.  No one can out give God.  What an important truth to teach our grandchildren. 

Someone very close to me basically lives by faith.  At one point in time He worked for a local Rescue Mission as general director.  He loved his job, and he did not take this job based on salary.  He took it because it is where the Lord wanted him.  He got a small income,  barely enough to feed a family of 7 (there are  9 of them now)!  But God has never failed him and continues to meet his needs.  He realized that when he gave, God always gave back to him.

Here is one story he tells.  The Lord spoke to someone one day about giving him  a cash gift of $100.  He had the money in his pocket and was about to leave church when he saw a person walking through the parking lot that he knew had some definite needs.  The Lord spoke to his heart and told him to give the money to him.  He looked at his wife and said,  The Lord just told me to give him this money.  Her response;  then give it to him. (Wives, we ought to always back up our husbands when they are responding to the prompting of the Holy Spirit)   So he gave him the money  and the man was most grateful because He knew that the Lord had met a need in his life. 

Well, it was not long after that when he had given the money away that he opened his car door and there in the seat was an envelope marked with his name and inside the envelope was $100! 

God gave it back to him!

But that is not the end of the story. 

The very next day someone called my husband and said, please come by because I want to give some money to this family.  So another $200 was added to what he received back from the Lord. 

God tripled it! 

We simply cannot out give God!  

And this is the time of year to be emphasizing this truth!  

Luke 6:38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
