Is Anyone Praying For You?
It was one of those weeks! I was feeling a little down. I don’t like feeling sorry for myself and I work hard not to do that. But sometimes, when you’re tired, and when your husband is gone for long hours and you’ve got all those aches and pains that come when you get older, it just happens. I found myself thinking, I wonder if anyone is praying for me this week. I pray every day for my children and grandchildren, for my friends and extended family, and for many who need to come to know Jesus. But some days I just wish I knew that someone is praying for me.
While listening to this story last night. I was overwhelmed with the fact that Jesus prays for me! Tears began to flow. Jesus prays for me all the time! That was just the encouragement that I needed.

Jesus prayed all the time.
Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.”
Mark 14:32 “And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.”
Matthew 26:36 “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.”
What an example He was to us – He prayed for others
He prayed for the little children and for the disciples and His followers
Matthew 19:13 “Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray:
Luke 22:32 “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
John 17:21 “That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”
While in Heaven HE prays for us!
Hebrews 7:25 …He ever liveth to make intercession for them.” (them would be us or those who know Jesus)
Romans 8:33-34 …Who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Prayers by Jesus for us
According to John 17, here are some things that Jesus prays for us:
Protect them, keep them from going astray from the Truth and keep them unified
To Be filled with Joy
To keep them from the evil one while they are in the world
That we would be sanctified throught the Truth of God’s Word; that His Word would be taught to us
To be unified so the world sees that we belong to Christ
That we will be with Him in glory
To know love for one another as the Father loved Jesus
Jesus is our High Priest
Praise God, we do not need a priest here on earth. We have a High Priest that we can go directly to, Jesus, the one who never sinned, yet now accepts us at the throne of grace. (Hebrews 4:14-16) We can go there boldly and find His grace to help in our time of need. He knows our needs before we even ask Him; He was tempted in all points just as we are, so He understands. He gives grace and mercy new and fresh every day. If you belong to Jesus, He is always interceding and praying on your behalf.
Note: The story we read or actually listened to is “We Died Before We Came Here” It is the story of a missionary couple to the Muslims and the trials they faced. It is the story of losing your life only to gain it through Christ. It is the story of “to live is Christ and to die is gain”. It will encourage you. You should pick up your copy and read it.
