Let The Little Children Come – Instilling The Gospel Into The Littles
As a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 20, I am always interested in ways to instill the gospel and Biblical Truths into children. Recently, I was excited to receive several gospel tracts and gospel tools that help to do just that. They come from a website called Let The Little Children Come.
Let The Little Children Come aims to provide effective gospel tracts and evangelism tools and resources for children. Each product is designed to capture and hold the attention of children, and most important to get across the core message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
It is the hope that these tools and resources will help one in conveying the powerful gospel message to children.
CHILD EVANGELISM PRODUCTS
Below you can find links to the different products that I received in a sampler pack. Check them out and review the different tools for yourself.
Animated Christmas Tract - With Christmas coming soon, this would be a great tract to have on hand. Tell Children the true story of Christmas, that God sent his Son, Jesus, to be born on earth, yet He came to die on Calvary and now he lives again so that we too can live with him!
John 3:16 Animated Tract - John 3:16 is one of my favorite gospel verses, because it is the very verse that was used when I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Gospel Flip About - This is such a cute idea and something kids would play with for a good while. As you give it to them, please be sure to explain the gospel thoroughly so that it will be on their minds as they flip the card on their own. You can see how this little tract works on the video below.
Pop-up Tract - This is a great idea too for a way to share the gospel with the littles. Yes, I do like the idea of the pop up tract, but the tract is definitely not my favorite. Why? Well, to me it just sound like an easy gospel. Look at it for yourself and see what you think. I would only use this tract if I had lots of time to expound on what God's Word says so as not to lead a little one astray.
The Wordless Book - I love this little book! It's not just any book! It's a gospel book! It's an evangelism tool and it's a great way to communitcate the wonderful story of Jesus' love and salvation to boys and girls and anyone! I can remember this when I was a child.
It is something that does not leave you and it is also a way that children can share it with others. Each color has a meaning and each color can be backed up with Bible verses which tell the good news of Jesus.
It was first used by Charles Spurgeon (Affiliate link) and has since then become a very popular evangelistic tool used the world over.
Besides the book itself here are a couple other ways you can use the Wordless Book.
Gospel Bracelet - Make your own beaded wordless book bracelet or choose a silicone bracelet. Children would love to wear this and what a wonderful way to share the gospel with their friends.
To Use Or Not To Use
As much as I love these tracts or the idea of these tracts, sometimes I am a little hesitant about using them. Oh yes, I do think they can be great tools in getting the message of Salvation into the hearts of children, but after being involved in children's' ministries over the years, I have found that in today's world, many many children do not have any understanding of the basic foundations of God's Word. As a result they may not have a clear understanding of the Bible message of Salvation. They do not really see themselves as sinners. They do not really realize that they NEED a Savior; they don't really know that Jesus is the only way, that HE is The Truth, The Life and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus the Son of God.
So to just show them a tract and go through the plan of salvation may cause a child to say YES, I want to go to heaven and then automatically pray the "sinner's prayer" when in fact, they really don't have a clue what they are doing. Many children need time, they need repetition of the foundations of God's Word.
I was privileged to be raised in a Christian home! As a result, I heard the gospel many times over as well as the great truths of God's Word. At the age of 8, I realized that I was a sinner, that I needed Jesus to be my Savior. And praise God I was gloriously saved! (You can read my testimony here)
All this to say, yes, please use these tools and any others that you find to be helpful in giving the good news of Jesus, but use them prayerfully, being careful not to cause an "easy believism" in the heart of a child where there is no true repentance. Instead ask the Lord for opportunities to minister to children and share the good news of the gospel and Bible foundations with them. In due time they will truly see their need to make Jesus their own Savior and come to abundant life in Him.
