Lockhart Life in the Carolinas

It has been nearly 5 months since Jeremy and Esther left for Brazil.  My how we miss them, but oh how thankful we are for children who love the Lord and are willing to serve wherever the Lord sends them.  They have been through quite a lot in these past five months.  You can read about a lot of it here in their blog.  Esther has faced quite a bit of sickness putting them behind in language school.  This illness has also made it necessary for Esther to begin a diet in order to assist her in her health needs.  It is called the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD).  They have had to do quite a bit of study and searching in order to find the foods and vitamins that Esther needs.  It will take some time to get adjusted and to figure out exactly what foods are tolerable and which ones are not.  They would greatly appreciate your prayers for strength and wisdom during this trying time.  Jeremy is back in language school, but Esther is sitting out a while longer until she can get her strength back.
Little Judah will have his first birthday next month.  What a joy it would be to be able to spend that day with them, but it is not going to happen this year.  Guess we will just have to enjoy what pictures they send our way.
Of course life goes on here in the Carolinas.  Mel and I were able to get a few days of vacation in to take a break from our regular routine.  We enjoyed our favorite spots in the mountains of Tennesee and North Carolina.  You can go here to see some of the pictures and places we went.
Mel has been busy at Ambassador Baptist College where he works on the maintenance crew.  He has also been busy with many calls for HVAC.  So many a night he has been gone putting in new units or helping to maintain units.  We are thankful for the Lord’s protection as he spent a lot of time in some very HOT attics!   We are also thankful for extra work during hard times.  Our Lord is good and continually provides for us.
We were happy to have Paul and Loretta Hitz in for a meal.  They were finalizing plans before leaving as missionaries to the Baffin Islands. Wow!  What a place to go, yet they are sold out to the Lord and willing to go wherever He wants.  You can find out more about them here and here.
It has been Hot Hot Hot here in the Carolinas! We have had some record breaking temperatures.   But yesterday the Lord gave us some refreshing rain and cooled it off just a little bit.
VBS at Maranatha Baptist Church was a blessing this year.  The children enjoyed the space theme as they learned about our great creator.  We had skits, games, crafts, and most important hearing and learning the Word of God.  Two souls were saved and others were challenged through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word.  One special night was hat night.  Everyone was encouraged to make their own space hat.  Below is Adalyn, Audrey, and JD, some of our grand children, and the hats they wore.

God is good.  He is always good!  We praise Him for all He has done for us and until the next update,  keep your eyes on Him!
Hebrews 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
