Psalm 119:8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly

Lord, Don’t Leave Me! Psalm 119:8

I have promised to keep God’s Word over and over and from my heart I really mean it!

I’m determined, yet I know, though my Spirit is willing, my flesh is weak.  So I pray, Lord, don’t leave me!  It is woe to me if God departs from me.  If I am left to myself and the Spirit is withdrawn from me, then I can never keep His Word.

Psalm 119:8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly

Learn and Keep

We cannot keep them unless we learn them; but we learn them in vain if we do not keep them. Those have well learned God’s statutes who have come up to a full resolution, in the strength of his grace, to keep them. – Matthew Henry

Help me Lord!

It is only through You and the power of your grace that I can keep any commandment.  How awesome to know that You have promised never to leave me or forsake me!  It is I who leaves You and strays from the path of righteousness. But…

But the Lord never has utterly forsaken his servants, and he never will, blessed be his name. If we long to keep his statutes he will keep us; yea, his grace will keep us keeping his law. -Treasury of David

NEVER ALONE – LISTEN TO THE MUSIC.  WORD ARE BELOW

I’ve seen the lightning flashing,
  And heard the thunder roll;
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing,
  Trying to conquer my soul;
I’ve heard the voice of Jesus,
  Telling me still to fight on;
He promised never to leave me,
  Never to leave me alone. No, never alone,

  No, never alone,
He promised never to leave me,
  Never to leave me alone;
No, never alone,
  No, never alone,
He promised never to leave me,
    Never to leave me alone.

The world’s fierce winds are blowing,
  Temptations are sharp and keen;
I feel a peace in knowing
  My Savior stands between;
He stands to shield me from danger,
  When earthly friends are gone,
He promised never to leave me,
  Never to leave me alone.

When in affliction’s valley,
  I’m treading the road of care,
My Savior helps me to carry
  My cross when heavy to bear;
My feet entangled with briars,
  Ready to cast me down;
My Savior whispered His promise,
  Never to leave me alone.

He died for me on the mountain,
  For me they pierced His side,
For me He opened that fountain,
  The crimson, cleansing tide;
For me He waiteth in glory,
  Seated upon His throne;
He promised never to leave me,
  Never to leave me alone.
