Parenting – A Book Review and a giveaway
Parenting for many of us is a great struggle. Really, it is a life long process; by the time your children are grown, then you are doing grand parenting. Do you sometimes feel lost in this tremendous God given responsibility? I know I have felt that way many times.
“Parenting” by Paul David Tripp is written to help us focus on godly principles as we parent our children. I really love how the author lays out these different principles and shows us how to incorporate each of them into our skills as parents. Tripp gives 14 foundational principles centered on the Word of God. He then shows that just strategy and methods are not enough. We need the grace of God as we work with our children and train them to one day be good parents.
God has called you to be a parent, so don’t despair. When He calls us to do something, He will give us the means to do it. We can develop our parenting skills continually as we base them on the Word of God. Our skills can be developed even on into grand parenting. This book has some great Bible based helps that can aid us in developing those skills.
