Snow and a Redneck Sle

SNOW And A Redneck Sled

Well, snow is on the way soon here in North Carolina. Did you get your milk and bread – ha! Seems like that is what they do here in the south. Watch out grocery stores! They all flock in and empty the shelves with the bread and the cooler with the milk. It’s kind of funny if you come from the north (I grew up in upstate NY, but have lived in the south for many years now). They just don’t know how to handle it.  It took a genuine blizzard up north in order for everything to shut down, but here, well that’s another story.  People cancel appointments, leave work early, get their kids out of school and raid the grocery stores so they’ll have enough food and snacks while they are snowed in.

I read a Facebook post today that really stated it well;  basically it said that when snow is forecasted in the south the anticipation is equal to that of a holiday and that is true!   It is not drudgery like many places, but instead fun for a couple of days.  Snow and the South is an awesome mix!

Fun in the Snow and a Redneck Sled

Here is one snow that we had.  JD, our grandson, was here so grandpa had to show him how you could have fun in the snow by “making” a redneck sled/   What do you think?  JD loved it!  He enjoyed playing in the snow with Grandpa even though he was very cold Brrr!  And this Redneck sled worked pretty well.  Maybe you would like one (aff.) for your self or maybe just one of these.  (aff.)

Snow and a redneck sled makes sledding and cold days fun!

Don’t you love how God’s Word uses the word snow?  “Whiter than snow, yes whiter than snow, wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.”  When your sins are forgiven you are washed white as snow.  When a Christian gets right, he is clean through the Word and washed whiter than snow and his joy is renewed.

Psalms 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Love the song, Whiter Than Snow! Great sled idea! When I was a kid, we didn’t always have enough sleds, but found a piece of cardboard works well. 🙂
