Sunrise, Sunset

Sunrise, Sunset
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don’t remember growing older
When did they?
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow
the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tear
You may recognize some of the words above from the lyrics of “Sunrise, Sunset” from “Fiddler on the Roof” The words are a good reminder of how swiftly the days go by and that our lives are but a vapor. As I meditate on this I am only prayerful that I can pass the following words of wisdom on to my children and grandchildren. May their lives count for eternity.
What words of wisdom
can I give them?
How can I help to
ease their way?
May their trust be
only in the Lord
Day by Day
Proverbs 1:7-10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
My how quickly the days flee away. Now it has been just Grandpa and Grandma Lockhart living alone in our house for over 8 years. However, the Lord has blessed us with 17 grandchildren.
