Thanksgiving and Praise To God – No Matter What Happens, I Can Joy In The God Of My Salvation
There is always joy when you remember the God of your Salvation!
Are you tired of this earth? I am!
Are you tired of the masked people everywhere? I am!
Are you tired of government working at controlling your life? I am!
Are you going through unexplainable trials and sufferings? Do you wonder what’s going on? Are you tempted to complain and murmur against God? Often, I am!
But look at what Habakkuk says: How long, O Lord, must I call for help? Habakkuk 1:2 O Lord, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear!
As I look around and see all the evil in his day I sometimes wonder why it seems as though the enemy is prospering and God’s people are not getting answers. But it’s very possible that God is doing something that we would never believe if He told us.
God is sovereign and has it all under control.
The wicked may mean it for evil, but God may mean it for good. Remember Joseph. He was in Egypt for years before God revealed His plan and yet we read that God was with Him. He was doing something marvelous for the good of His people.
We may not realize at the moment what is going on, especially if we are in a period of trials and suffering, or a time when our enemies seem to be prospering and we are oppressed. (I feel that way right now with this supposedly pandemic going on worldwide) But Habakkuk assures us that God is sovereign and omnipotent and is ultimately in control.
Be still and realize the God is God!
He will be exalted above the heathen. His name will be made known through all the earth. Psalm 73 reminds us not to envy the wicked. Their day is coming. God will not be mocked and one day they will suddenly be destroyed. (CLICK HERE for a great paraphrase on Psalm 73; it is written by someone from Shalom Ministries)
But for me I have the joy of God my Salvation!
As we trust that God is sovereign and is working on our behalf we can say with Habakkuk
Habakkuk 3:17-19
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
God is my strength, my joy, the God of my Salvation! I can trust Him even unto death.
I can know that He will take me to higher places and make me stable, sure-footed, and able to withstand any enemy. Praise God for the joy of His Salvation!
